Add a beautiful filterable WordPress gallery to let your visitors easily browse through your images.

Easily let website visitors sort photos in your gallery by adding filters

Depending on the number of images in galleries, it might make sense to allow your website visitors to easily sort through them. With using Modula, this can easily be done using the built-in filter functionality.

First, you’ll need to either create a new gallery or edit an existing one. You should find creating your first gallery using Modula really easy, but if you run into some issues here’s a brief explanation that should clear things up for you.

Time to add those images to your gallery

To do this, click Upload Image Files, Select from Library or simply drag your images into the gallery edit area to upload and insert your images into your gallery.

The final step is to Publish your filterable WordPress gallery so you can copy & paste the shortcode into any post or page where you want it to appear.

And then add as many filters as you’d like

Let’s use ‘portrait’, ‘landscape’, and ‘sports’ as an example of three filters. As you can see above, we’ve already created the filters. However, we haven’t assigned them to any images so they’ll still appear empty.

Click the edit icon that appears on your images in your Modula gallery

To assign a filter to an image all you need to do is click the edit icon to the left of the image delete button. Then scroll all the way down to the ‘filters’ section as shown below:

You can add as many filters or no filters to an image. If you do not add a filter to an image then it will only appear when the ‘All’ filter is clicked.

Regardless of the lightbox style you choose, you can always switch a gallery from creative gallery to custom grid. This will allow you to set the size of each individual image in your gallery.

And still choose from 12 hover effects and add captions

After adding your lightbox gallery to your WordPress website, you can still further customize it. Modula gives you the choice of 12 built-in hover effects along with the ability to add custom image titles and descriptions to match your image.
